Saxony Invites Nurses for Training and Employment

Saxony, one of Germany’s federal states, has launched a new project in cooperation with a local clinic to attract international nurses. The program offers candidates the opportunity to work (through internships required for diploma recognition) while simultaneously studying German up to level B2.
The main goal is that, upon completion of the internship, participants will obtain a recognized German nursing diploma and a B2 language certificate, enabling them to work as Gesundheits- und Krankenpflegerin (registered nurse).

Diploma Recognition Through Internship.

Adaptation internship (Anpassungslehrgang) is mandatory for full diploma recognition. Nursing diplomas issued in CIS countries are only partially recognized in Germany. The licensing authority specifies how many hours and in which departments must be completed to achieve full recognition.

Working Conditions During Internship

After successfully passing the interview (see Employment Procedure), participants sign a qualification contract (Qualifizierungsvertrag).

  • During this period, candidates work as nursing assistants (Pflegehilfskraft) and receive:
